Based on the newly launched VNAO corporate plan, VNAO strategic goal 6 stipulates 

    • strengthening stakeholder communication with the actions being taken to undertake at least one annual stakeholder workshop. 
    • continual regular presentations at educational and other institutions.

     22nd of February 2023, VNAO undertook its 2023 government stakeholder workshop during the audit planning period. The stakeholders invited comprised head of agencies and participant representatives from government line agencies, State-Owned Enterprise and associates of private accounting firms. 

     

     Included also in the event was the launching of the Vanuatu National Audit Office Corporate plan 2022-2026 by the Vanuatu Minister of Finance and Economic Management, the Honorable John Dahmasing Salong.

     24th of February 2023, VNAO had the opportunity to participate in the International Education Day event Hosted by the Vanuatu Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) with staff members presenting awareness of the VNAO, its functions and role to students and the public at large.

    VNAO Corporate Plan 2022-2026

    To ensure the Vanuatu National Audit Office (VNAO) next strategic plan effectively captures all its previous developments and changes whilst aligning int goals and objectives with the Vanuatu 2030 People’s Plan, VNAO had requested through process of tender for a Technical Assistant to assist in preparing its next four-year plan.

    VNAO Achievement

    The Pacific Association for Supreme Audit Institutions (PASAI) (a localized unit for the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) within the South Pacific) had appointed on the 28th of May 2021 the Vanuatu National Audit Office (VNAO) to become the newly elected PASAI representative for the Melanesian region Supreme Audit Institutions in the South Pacific. The Auditor General, Mr. Caleb Sandy, took privileged to announce the new appointment to all VNAO staff of the office’s new role towards PASAI.

    Public Accounts Committee visits Vanuatu National Audit Office

    On the 7th of May 2021, the Vanuatu National Audit Office (VNAO) welcomed a courtesy visit from the current Public Accounts Committee (PAC). PAC were able to meet the staff and have a tour on how the auditors carry out their duties with a preview of the Audit software namely Teammate Plus. One of the key duties of PAC is to examine all reports of the Auditor-General (including reports of the results of efficiency audit) copies of which have been laid before Parliament.

    Cleanup Campaign towards the 40th Independence of Vanuatu

    In preparations for the forthcoming 40th independence anniversary celebrations of the Republic of Vanuatu, the Publice Service Commission initiated a clean up campaign for the entire public service community. The Ministry of Finance and Economic Management were tasked to do clean ups in Colardo and Dark Corner Area every Wednesday  3.00  to 5.00 pm commencing from 1st to 22nd  July 2020. The first day of the cleaning campaign saw the Vanuatu National Audit Office's staff successfully collected  12 rubbish bag full of non-biodegradable waste. The next cleaning campaign will be on the 8th July 2020.
